This year the ESC/WOSC Shogi was organized in the European Go Cultural Centre in Amstelveen, close to Amsterdam.
It attracted a record number of participants: 121 people played in the main event: The World Open Shogi Championship(WOSC).
The best 32 players from Europe played a maximum of 5 rounds in a knock-out format for the European Shogi Championship(ESC). Once they finished this tournament, they continued with their accumulated points in the WOSC.
In this report I also share 3 games that I played myself. In the bottom you can find the sfen of those games.
At the bottom you can also find many links to pictures and video's!
I also share some standings, see here for a link to all standings.

My first shogi tournament abroad. I wanted to get an official rating before the European championships in August. For this, I needed 4 more games to get to 12. The prices and the participant list looked quite interesting.

In the first game I won against Ritchy Höhne, who also had played 4 rated games so far.
